Art Instruction for Adults and Children

Group instruction (drop-in) allows for students to work with the project and material of their choice while receiving instruction. Private/Small Group instruction (by appointment) is personalized to the individual student/students goals. All levels of experience are encouraged. Supply list will be given when registering,. Childrens Group: Ages 6-17; Adult Group: 18 and up. All classes held at Studio 14 Gallery.

"Figure Drawing Class"
Theme: Learn to draw the figure with realism and expression with instructor Sandi Sharp. Students will develop strong foundational skills and explore how to convey personal expression in drawing the figure. A clothed model will hold long poses, allowing time to complete each drawing from start to finish. All levels of experience are encouraged to attend.

Carin Hebenstreit
"Oil Portraits" Workshop
Theme: Carin Hebenstreit, a nationally renowned oil portrait painter will instruct her students using the technique of glazing with oils in a 2-day workshop. Her technique, influenced by the Renaissance masters and honed through years of study abroad, incorporates glazing layers of paint over her underpainting to produce luminosity and richness of color. Carin brings her subjects to life through the flow and movement and design of the painting. She is truly one of the most evocative portrait artists of our time.
On day one students complete a monochromatic painting covering the entire canvas. On day two they will begin glazing thin layers of color over all and add detail as paintings are brought to completion.
